Fathers Day Dads protest the Cheshire home of Edward Timpson MP.

The trio Fathers Day Dads Bobby Smith, Les Culshaw, James Dennis descended on the exclusive Cheshire home of Edward Timpson MP, Minister for children following his failure to engage with contact deprived fathers during this emotional time. The protest was also attended by other members of the group along with local residents who showed their interest as to why the event was taking place.

A peaceful protest to highlight the lack of MP intervention to assist alienated and contact denied fathers. There is little point in an MP having a prominent role if they simply sit back, do nothing or appear to be complicit in this form of abuse. MP’s who don’t have time to see or meet with fathers by appointment may find out that fathers will make the MP an appointment with them via lawful protest.

Heavy Police response was there within minutes from all directions due to the recent sad incident involving Jo Cox MP. This response clearly demonstrated the new measures that had been put in place by Cheshire police who remained present throughout the days event. No arrests were made and complements were exchanged for good conduct by all those present at the event.
Well done Cheshire Police for appropriate policing and 10/10 in your response time and new safety measures for MP’s.

North East dads scale bridge in Father’s Day protest

Well done to RFFJ and all involved

Two fathers have scaled Sunderland’s Queen Alexandra Bridge to stage a Father’s Day protest against family courts.

The pair have unfurled a 25ft purple banner proclaiming ‘Happy Fatherless Day’ on the north side of the bridge, though Northumbria Police say they have asked them to come down.

Campaign group, Real Fathers for Justice, who are not associated with Fathers 4 Justice, have said the protest is to highlight family court decisions which deny one parent equal access to children.

The two dads who have climbed the Sunderland landmark both claim to have had harrowing experiences of family courts.

Danny, 42, from Sunderland hasn’t seen his two young children for over four years.

He said: “My eldest son was born on Fathers’ Day, today’s protest is dedicated to him.

“I don’t think most people have any idea of the affects of being unable to parent your children, knowing that despite them living only a few miles away I am no longer part of their lives.

“I am allowed only to send small gifts and cards four times a year, I have no idea if they receive them or not.

“It has been described as a living bereavement not seeing your children, it affects every part of your life and my mental health has suffered. It’s like being shell shocked, your life loses meaning, you are overwhelmed with feelings of frustration and confusion.”

The father-of-two says he can no longer afford legal fees to pursue an appeal.

Joining him on the bridge protest is Gateshead father-of-four, John, 34.

Leigh Davison, a spokesman for Real Fathers for Justice, said the pair were inspired by Simon Anderton’s protest last year, which saw the father-of-five spend 11 days on the Tyne bridge after scaling the landmark on Father’s Day.

He said: “Their cases are fairly typical of the hundreds we hear about every week, These types of protest will continue and could well intensify, there are a new generation of younger fathers who are becoming aware of the kind of problems in family law we have been highlighting for over a decade.”

A spokesperson for Northumbria Police has said: “Officers attended and made contact with the two men, who claim to be carrying out a protest on the bridge.

“We have requested they come down and will continue to monitor the situation.”

However, the two protestors could stay on the bridge for days or weeks, depending on the level of support they get, Leigh warned.

The bridge remains open for traffic and pedestrians.

Father’s Day and All I Want is to See My Children!

Father’s Day for many fathers is not a cause for celebration. Instead, it’s a reminder of their ongoing separation from their children.Parental alienation syndrome is reaching epidemic proportions yet the courts do nothing.

It’s no good sitting at home getting depressed and getting upset at how much you miss your kids. You need to stand up and not accept what has happened.

It’s time for every father to become the superhero that his child sees in him, and fights for the right to be a dad.

Happy Father’s Day!

Rosena Allin-Khan pays tribute to Jo Cox in first statement as Tooting MP

Rosena Allin-Khan, the new MP for Tooting, paid an emotional tribute to tragic Jo Cox after she was elected to replace Sadiq Khan in the seat.

Mrs Cox was killed outside her constituency surgery in West Yorkshire just hours before the by-election result was due to be announced.

The news rocked the nation and the count in Tooting had a sombre tone in light of the event.

Dr Allin-Khan won the election, increasing Labour’s majority in the seat.

In a statement made after the announcement, she said: “First of all, I would like to give my profound thanks to the people of Tooting for electing me as their MP.

“But my thoughts and prayers are with Jo’s husband and her children. She was a proud and passionate campaigner who will be desperately missed.

“Jo’s death reminds us that our democracy is precious but fragile – we must never forget to cherish it. Thousands of people voted today and we are all here in recognition of our democratic values.

“I would like to thank the police for all the hard work they have done today, not just here but across the country.

“I would like to thank the returning officer and staff for their efficient and smooth running of this by-election, and I would also like to thank my agent and his campaign staff.

“I would like to thank the other candidates for the respectful way in which this by-election has been fought.

“And lastly, I would like to thank my family and friends for their love and support.”

At 11pm, the count fell silent for two minutes in tribute to Mrs Cox.

The Mayor of Wandsworth, Councillor Richard Field, said: “As the returning officer, I want to express the sadness everyone involved in this by-election has felt today at the dreadful death of Jo Cox and to convey our deep felt condolences to those closest to her.

“The impact of this tragic event is being felt right across the country, but it has a very deep resonance here in this room, as the votes are counted for Tooting’s new member of parliament.

“With this in mind, I request that we hold a two minute silence in tribute to Jo Cox – please observe this with me now.”

Candidates remarked through the evening that the tone was sombre given the tragic events of that afternoon.

There were fewer cheers when the polling numbers were announced and Bobby Smith, who usually hears the votes announced in an Elmo costume, refrained from wearing it on stage.

New Fathers 4 Justice and Stop The War on Dads campaigners unfurl banner inside Parliament

Guess how many milliseconds it took the police to realise we’d got a banner into parliament? “Airport style security” don’t make me laugh

New Fathers 4 Justice – Five parental rights campaigners display a banner inside the Great Hall in the Houses of Parliament.

Late afternoon five parental rights campaigners breached House of Commons security and managed to display a banner inside the Houses of Parliament.

This is part of a campaign by  ‘New Fathers 4 Justice’ and Stop the War on Dads.

Bobby Smith and Sharon Chesterman both from Stevenage, Les Culshaw from Preston, Lian Harris and Michela Harris from Lancaster smuggled two banners past security and displayed them on the steps inside. They we eventually removed by armed Police.

It’s a good job the banner was not a bomb! They also accessed the public gallery.

The Police did not know who Bobby was despite the fact he was wearing his Give Me Back Elmo T Shirt and he was even able to put in a green card request to visit David Cameron. They obviously have not seen his selfie from Boris Johnson’s balcony.

The ease of how they got two banners inside was unbelievable……..It’s easier to get inside Parliament than to see your Children!

Bobby said: “Ever wondered what happens if you go into the Houses of Parliament and hold up a fathers rights banner? You get escorted out by armed police”
